About Damien
Solo DevSecOps engineer. I help small teams ship quality software with AI assistance.
The story, in short
I started writing code professionally around the time “platform engineer” was becoming a job title. The work has not changed much — read the system, find the bottleneck, fix it without breaking anything else. The tools have changed a lot.
I have spent 20+ years on AWS, GCP, Cloudflare, and Kubernetes — running production for teams from two engineers to two hundred. The bigger the team, the more I learned about what makes the small ones fast.
What I believe
- AI is a tool. Engineering is the craft. The craft is the part that does not get replaced.
- Most “AI for code” failures are not AI failures. They are missing CI, missing tests, missing reviews.
- Small teams have an advantage if they keep their feedback loops short. AI helps if it does not break the loops.
- Security is not a stage. It is a default.
- Plain language wins. Most technical problems stop being technical when everyone can read the same doc.

If you want a CV, ask and I will send one. I do not keep one here because CVs lie by omission.
How I work
- Engagements are short and fixed scope. Two-day audits, one or two-sprint delivery blocks, four-week coaching cycles.
- English and French, written and spoken.
- I work async most days. Calls are short and rare.
- I do not take equity. Money-for-time, time-for-money.
- I will say no if the engagement is not a fit.
