1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device (computer, smartphone, tablet) when you visit a website. It allows the site to remember your actions and preferences for the duration of the cookie. Some cookies are strictly necessary for the site to function; others require your consent.
2. Which cookies do we use?
We use two categories of cookies: strictly necessary cookies (which do not require consent) and analytics cookies (which require consent).
2.1. Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential to the operation of the Site and cannot be disabled. They do not store any direct identification data.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|---|
cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Distinguish humans from bots; anti-DDoS protection (Turnstile challenge, etc.) | 30 days | Legitimate interest (security) |
__cf_bm | Cloudflare | Bot management (Cloudflare Bot Management) | 30 minutes | Legitimate interest (security) |
2.2. Analytics cookies (opt-in)
These cookies are set only after you have given your consent via the banner shown on your first visit. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
ph_* (e.g. ph_id, ph_posthog_js) | PostHog (Cloud EU) | Session identification, anonymous analytics | Up to 1 year (per cookie) | Analytics |
posthog_session | PostHog (Cloud EU) | Session tracking for funnel analytics | Session | Analytics |
2.3. Marketing cookies
No marketing, advertising or third-party profiling cookies are used in v1.
3. Cloudflare Web Analytics — cookieless
Our Site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics as its primary analytics tool. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookie-free, fingerprint-free, and personal-data-free: analytics rely solely on aggregated page views as reported by the browser through standard APIs (e.g. PerformanceObserver). No data is tied to an individual user.
Accordingly, Cloudflare Web Analytics does not fall within the scope of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) cookie rules (the UK equivalent of the ePrivacy directive), and does not require prior consent.
Source: https://www.cloudflare.com/web-analytics/ — “Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies or any other tracking technology to identify visitors, nor does it fingerprint visitors.”
4. PostHog (Cloud EU)
If you consent, we use PostHog Cloud EU for finer-grained product analytics (interaction events, conversion funnels). PostHog Cloud EU hosts data in data centres located in the European Union. PostHog’s DPA is available at https://posthog.com/dpa.
5. How to express your choice?
5.1. On your first visit
A consent banner is displayed. You can:
- Accept all;
- Reject all;
- Customise by category (Analytics only).
No non-essential cookies are set until you have expressed a choice. In line with UK ICO and CNIL guidance, the “Reject all” button is as visible and as easy to use as the “Accept all” button.
5.2. At any time
You can change your choice:
- By clicking on “Manage cookies” available at the bottom of the page;
- By deleting analytics cookies from your browser settings, which will cause the banner to be shown again.
5.3. Browser settings
You can configure your browser to block all or some cookies, or to alert you before cookies are stored.
6. Do Not Track
If your browser sends the DNT: 1 (Do Not Track) header, we automatically disable PostHog analytics and do not display the consent banner.
7. Choice retention
Your choice is stored for 6 months as a strictly necessary cookie (cookie_consent_v1); beyond that, the banner is shown again.
